Maria Lombardi received her M.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering in 2016 from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy). She got her dual PhD degree in Engineering Mathematics at University of Bristol jointly with the University of Naples Federico II (Italy).
During the doctorate, her research interests included human-robot interaction, design of artificial agents interacting with humans as well as modelling coordination and leadership both in human groups and in groups mixed with virtual agents.
She is currently a Postdoctoral researcher in the Humanoid Sensing and Perception Group at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa (Italy). Her research interests include computer vision, human robot interaction and social robotics. Her current research focuses on the development of novel algorithms for humanoid robots that make them effectively operate in close interaction and cooperation with humans while exhibiting human-like social features.
